CA Smog Check Program

In 1982 California implemented the “Smog Check” program, an inspection program intended to improve California air quality and ensure that the state meets 1970 Federal Clean Air Act requirements.

The California Smog Check program identifies vehicles whose emissions exceed amounts permitted by California emission laws through the use of state of the art exhaust gas analyzers.

Exhaust analyzers take pictures of your vehicle’s exhaust and converts those images into information which a Smog technician can read and evaluate. Based on this information the technician can diagnose your vehicle’s engine condition and thereby pass or fail your smog test.

A Smog Inspection is no cause for panic! It is simply an inspection designed to make sure your car is running at optimum levels. An smog test is also an excellent way to ensure that your car is not contributing to growing climate concerns by pumping excessive amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere!

Come by our shops and get a smog check today to keep our air clean and ensure your car is running as best as it can!
